Stanley Arts Festival Features National Art & Local Flavor this Weekend

Stanley Arts Festival, produced by CherryArts, features more than 90 national juried artists in 13 disciplines of art, including ceramics, mixed media, digital art, photography, metalworks, and drawing. In addition to the artists, visitors will enjoy children’s activities at Creation Station, art installations, dance performances, live music, food trucks, and more!

This year, the Festival will feature “Creatura Psychedlica,” a monumental pneumatic sculpture installation by Bill Kennedy of San Francisco in partnership with the Museum of Outdoor Arts.
On Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m. Rocky Mountain Latin Dance Academy will perform, followed by the Colorado Asian Cultural Heritage Center performing a Lion Dance at 2:15 p.m. and Mudra Dance Studios performing a traditional and contemporary Indian dance at 5 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 8, Rudi Monterroso will offer a live art making demonstration painting with his feet while he dances and moves at 1:30 p.m. then, Colorado Mestizo Dancers will perform at 4 p.m.
The stage on the southwest corner of the Stanley Marketplace parking lot features live music all weekend, and interactive art making will be available at Creation Station.
The CherryArts Art Auction Gallery will be located in the chapel outside The Hanger at Stanley. View and bid on original works of art that have been donated by the exhibiting artists. Proceeds from the Art Auction benefit CherryArts’ year-round arts education initiatives. CherryArts will also be hosting an Art Bucks drawing onsite. Enter to win $250 to spend on your favorite Stanley Arts Festival artist.
