The Japan America Society of Colorado is hosting a free, family and child-friendly cultural event in Stapleton's Central Park on Sunday, October 1st from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. 

Japanese Kite Master Mikio Toki is visiting Colorado and will be in the park flying his masterpiece kites, encouraging kids to make and/or fly their own kite, and just have a great time.

If you're interested in making your own kites prior to the event, Mikio Toki will hold two Japanese Kite-Making Workshops on Saturday, September 30 at 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1:00-3:30 p.m. at the Central Park Rec Center. A $5 workshop fee covers the cost of materials.
