The month of just say yes

My very favorite thing about my Positively Balanced Life and Fitness Mom Planner is this:

Every month, there is a page where you write down your intentions to strengthen yourself - body, mind and spirit. And every month, you write down something new you intend to try.

It is something about writing it down, thinking about it, committing it to paper. It makes you that much more resolved. Somehow, it transcends the one thing you've written down. June has been my month of "yes."

I just say yes to things.

And yes, sometimes I say yes to too many things and then have to back out. (Sorry to those I had to back out on!) Like my bunco group... I'm sorry I bailed on bunco. But it's not every day that you get invited to the rock climbing gym with a couple of rock climbing experts...

Our neighbor's Grandpa Don took six 5-6 year olds to a rock climbing gym just off the Thornton Parkway - Rock'n & Jam'n. They got them harnessed up, on the belay ropes, and these kids just scampered right up the wall. No fear, no hesitation, just did it. Then they leaned back and came all the way down!

If those kids could do it, I could too, right?

I made it. To. The. Very. Top. Twice! And even rang the bell. It was freaking exhilarating.

Earlier this month, I rode 55 miles in the Pedaling 4 Parkinsons bike ride. I had ridden that far never ever before. I was lucky to have an awesome crew riding with me - including the triathlon coach from Runner's Edge of the Rockies - and I would not have made it without them. I'm still riding the high from that.

So thanks, Beth and Positively Balanced, for planting the seed month after month that, yes, you can do it!
