Special Delivery! The Vibrant Earth Juice Truck delivers fresh juice

Wednesday, July 31, 2013 Leave a Comment

Look who pulled up the other morning with a special delivery: The Vibrant Earth Juice Truck, serving up fresh, organic cold-pressed juices!

You might have seen the Juice Truck at Sweet William Market last weekend.

If you're curious about the juice craze, or even if you're already a convert, you have to check out nutritionist Jill Latham's juice truck and Vibrant Earth Juices. Jill serves up superfood smoothies from the truck, and also has 3-day or 5-day juice cleanses.

I am a big fan of juicing. Green smoothies in the morning are my favorite way to get a whole bunch of veggies in. And Vibrant Earth Juices use the cold-pressed method of extracting juice, which retains the nutrients better. All the ingredients are locally sourced and organic. And she uses a secret ingredient: flax seed oil, full of omega 3's.

I tried a one-day cleanse. I can't decide which is my favorite. I love the green Energy drink. Kale (the super green packed with antioxidants and cancer fighting phytochemicals), celery (helps lower blood pressure, regulate sleep, and has cancer fighters, among other things), dandelion (this herb helps clear toxins from the liver)... and a whole bunch of other goodness. And it tastes delicious.

I really love the Refresh drink. It tastes better than a latte, and cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar.

The Immunity juice (yellow) is a mix of sweet pears and pineapples with tart lemons.

Just in time for the mid-afternoon sugar craving/crash is the Calm drink: beets, carrots, kale, ginger, cucumber and more. Runners will love this drink with endurance boosting beets.

So how did I feel after my cleanse? My brain felt clear, and I didn't have any sugar cravings for the next couple of days. A cleanse like this can rev up your metabolism, even out your blood sugar, and provide a wallop of nutrients -- including the 5-9 servings of vegetables and fruit.
