I still remember those summer evenings watching Nadia Comenici in the 1976 Olympics. I was 6 years old. (There. Now y'all know how old I am.) Every family was gathered around their TV's - there were only 4 channels to watch then. The Olympics were a huge deal! Every little girl wanted to be a gymnast. My mom signed me up for gymnastics taught by a huge, muscle bound Iranian man - he looked just like Bela Karosi to me!
