Preview of the New Stapleton Library

Thursday, February 16, 2012 Leave a Comment

We are all so excited to finally have our own library in Stapleton!  I had the privilege to take a tour and love what is in store for us when they open in August.

The library was designed by OZ Architecture in Denver and will have LEED Certification.

The library features areas for Adults, Children and Tweens.  Also featured are private areas that can be reserved for studying, meetings and community events.

The space is a open and bright, with lots of natural light and high exposed ceilings.  All the mechanical systems are run through access flooring, allowing for the high ceilings
and unobstructed views through out the space.
The checking in and out of books will be fully automated.

The adult non-fiction area features a wonderful fireplace, an amazing focal point you can see from the front of the library.  A great place to cozy up with a new book.

The covered front patio will provide benches and rocking chairs for the public to enjoy on a sunny day.

Thank you to Hillary at OZ Architecture and Women in Design for the opportunity to tour the new Stapleton Library.

Happy Reading,
Kama
