AAARRGH!!!
I don't know about you, but we have pirate fever in our house. It's all yo-ho-hoing and swashbuckling and digging holes in the garden to bury treasure. And using their styrofoam swords to amputate each other's legs.
If you've been to the Pirates exhibit at the Museum of Nature & Science, you might remember the Disneyesque scene: as you walk through the ship's quarters, you see where they slept, where they ate, and where the ship's doctor did his business. Amidst the protests on the soundtrack ("No! Not my leg! AAARGH!!" Or something like that) a sign says that because the ship did not have medicine on board, the ship's doctor would have to treat injuries by amputating the injured limb... and sure enough, there is the pirate doctor, sawing off his patient's leg just below the bloody knee. Oh, my boys stood in utter terror and fascination.
They loved it.
We've got a chance to win FREE tickets to the exhibition coming tomorrow!
