What to do in your garden, right now

Saturday, March 26, 2011 Leave a Comment

1. Clear out the old dead stuff and work a bag of compost into your dirt. You can get fancy about it in this Denver Post article.

2. Plant cool-season seeds like kale, swiss chard, peas, lettuce and beets. I already put kale in -- the seed package says a little frost actually enhances the flavor.

3. Sunset says to plant calendulas - cheery, daisy-like annuals.
What are you doing in your garden?

Ah, calendulas are marigolds! $1.20 for a packet of seeds from King Soopers. Can't go wrong with that!
