Your chance to be crowned Chili King or Queen of the World
Greetings Friends of Blue Horseshoe,
Get your stoves fired up and dust off your favorite chili recipe for the
first annual Blue Horseshoe Chili Cook off. The cook off will take place
on Sunday November 7th from Noon-2PM at the F15 Park in Stapleton
Eastbridge (28th and Hanover are the cross streets).
If you wish to participate in the cook off, simply email orders@bhcattle.com
with your name, team name (uniforms/costumes highly recommended) and the
name for your chili (have some fun with this). We will be accepting the
first 20 respondents. Participants will receive 2 free pounds of Blue
Horseshoe ground beef (which must be used in your recipe).
As a participant you must provide the following:
- 3 quarts (75-90 ounces) of Chili prepared prior to event
- 1 extra pint of chili for the judges
- Cook stove to bring your Chili up to serving temp at the event
(let us know if you need a stove)
- A serving Ladle
- A resounding belief that your chili is the best on earth and an attitude
to back it up
Blue Horseshoe will provide the following:
- 2 lbs of beef for each participant
- Tables/Booths for participants
- Libations i.e. beer, wine and sodas
- Music
- A special prize for the winner
- Serving cups and spoons for tasting
We will arrange a time and place for participants to pick up their ground
beef 2- 3 days prior to the event.
The only requirement for your chili recipe is that you use the Blue
Horseshoe beef that was provided so be creative. If your creativity is
escaping you, feel free to poach our chili recipe from our web site at
http://www.bhcattle.com/Beef_Recipes.html (Blue Horseshoe competition
class, soon to be world championship chili) and make your own
modifications. We will be judging the chili based on the following
criteria; balance of flavor and spice, texture, and presentation
Please RSVP as either a participant or a spectator/taster (the more the
merrier) by responding to this email. Remember only the first 20
respondents will have the chance to be crowed the Chili King/Queen of the
world so don't delay.
We look forward to seeing you and tasting your world famous chili on
November 7th.
