CPR for infants and kids
How many times have you said to yourself: I really ought to take an infant CPR class?
No, seriously, all it takes is one rogue goldfish or bit of apple, and a choking toddler, and I'm in a complete panic. My brother told me to hold the kid upside down if they're choking, but somehow I think there might be more to it than that.
Well, we're in luck, because The Red Cross is teaming up with Stapleton Moms to offer a Child & Infant CPR class at the Cafe of Life in the Town Center.
When: Saturday, March 27, 9:00
Where: Cafe of Life, Stapleton Town Center
Cost: $50 for Stapleton moms
Limited to 12 participants!
Because the Red Cross understands how crazy mom's lives can be, the Mile High Chapter offers an Infant & CPR Certification course in just five hours. Things you'll take away from the course include:
* Recognizing an Emergency. What are some unusual sights appearances or behaviors in infants or children that can help you recognize an emergency situation?
* Check-Call-Care. Once you recognize an emergency, remain calm and follow the emergency action steps: Check-Call-Care.
* How to care for a child or infant who is choking.
* Prioritizing care. In an emergency with more than one victim, how would you determine which victim needs care first?
* Recognize and care for a child or infant who is not breathing.
* Care for cardiac emergencies.
If you'd like to take this class, email me at liz (dot) easterly (at) gmail or sign up with the Cafe of Life.
