What part of New Urbanist planning says that it's ok to put a "neighborhood" school right next to a big box shopping center and commercial buildings - separated from the residential areas? Can you see kids walking there? I'm glad they put in a school, but this is underwhelming.
The whole point of buying a house in Stapleton is that it's walkable!!!
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE NEW SCHOOL LOCATION. THIS WILL BE IN A PREDOMINATELY NEW RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD IN STAPLETON. 2 STAPLETON SCHOOLS (DSST AND BILL ROBERTS) ARE NOT EXACTLY THE BEST LOCATIONS EITHER. THE BACK SIDE OF THE SCHOOL WILL FACE THE SHOPPING CENTER. I WOULD HOLD JUDGEMENTS UNTIL YOU SEE THE PLANS. JEESH.

I thought it was a weird location too... only good thing I could think of is that it will be close to the new public library.
A friend of mine isn't happy about the location near the FBI building... security and all. Good point about the library!
