If you read The Omnivore's Dilemma, or are just interested in where your All-American beef comes from, read "Grass-fed beef" at the Denver Post.
Aside from the fact that I will now buy my beef from Whole Foods, since this one awesome and sustainable ranch -- that treats the animals, the environment, their workers, and ultimately the food we eat with respect-- supplies all the regional Whole Foods stores, I love this type of local reporting. When people say local newspapers are a dying breed, I say this is the type of story only our local journalists can give us.
Oh no, you didnt shop Good Night Loving at our Farmers Market? Yey for you and Yey for all of us that youre using consumer dollars to support food the way ot should be. Pls check out Kingsolver's "Animal Vegetable Miracle" She's a cool author I think You would esp enjoy and the doc "King Corn" Just saw it for rent at Perk Hill (or the library or net flix etc;-)
Oh yes -- I did buy Good Night Loving meat at our Farmer's Market -- terrific ground beef for burgers, steaks, the lamb chops were delicious. And yes, Animal Vegetable Miracle is on my favorites list! I'll have to check out King Corn, heard of it... Thanks for commenting!
