You're too pregnant -- find someone else to help
If you get a sinus infection, will it go away without antibiotics?
According to this 2007 study on WebMD, it's extremely unlikely that the antibiotics help.
I believe I have a sinus infection -- I've never had one before, so I'm guessing that the extreme pressure and toothache and lots of gooey snot means infection -- but my OB/GYN doesn't take care of those kinds of health problems. They sent me to my general Doc.
My general Doc just can't possibly squeeze me in today, and he's just not comfortable prescribing antibiotics to someone so far along in pregnancy, so he referred me back to my OB/GYN.
Who then referred me to an Urgent Care facility.
Hmph. So I'm too pregnant for anyone to help me?
My acupuncture doc doesn't look too kindly on antibiotics, so she gave me a treatment this morning and I'm pretty clear right now, but I know that doesn't mean I'm cured. And do I really want to give my unborn kid antibiotics? Do I want to deal with antibiotic side effects like yeast infections at this stage?
Try Neil Med sinus rinse, I've gotten it at Walgreens, Target/King Soopers (ask the pharm). An absolute must, prescribed by my ENT after my sinus surgery. He said that everyone should do the rinses twice a day.

I would stay away from the NetiPot, it scares me.
p.s. I'm 5 months pregnant.

Found you while googling Stapleton--we're thinking of moving there.
Anyway---did you get over the sinus infection without antibiotics? If so, how? Always up for hearing about alternative healings! BTW--I love the neti pot! Feels weird at first but you feel so much better after! However, you have to be able to breathe out of both nostrils before you use it and that's not always possible when you're sick.
I used the Neti Pot twice a day with the sinus crap.... love it. It also helped with the pregnancy snoring. It took about 2 weeks to get over the sinus stuff, it pretty much went away immediately after I gave birth... but the acupuncture provided the best results.
