Stapleton moms are talking about...
... Running in the mornings.
Like, at 4:45 am, before anybody else in the house wakes up, while husbands are still home in case a kid does wake up, so Mom can get in the shower by 6:00 am.
Someone threw out a tentative "anyone interested?" email, and within four hours 20 moms had replied that they'd love to join (most threw in the caveat that they were in horrible shape, etc.). And it just got me wondering: when do moms find the time to work out?
I'm a stay at home mom, so theoretically I should have plenty of time to get in a workout. I even belong to a gym with daycare, and yet I'm lucky if I get there once a week for an hour. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed the eucalyptus steam room.
What do working moms do? Make time over their lunch hour?
I joined the Stroller Strides Running Group, where 40 of us get together for an hour on Sundays. That gets me out on Sunday, but the rest of the week?
We'll see.
Which brings me to a roundabout introduction: Everyone, welcome Maria.
Maria moved to Colorado from Atlanta, where she was a producer for CNN. She's mom to a beautiful two-year old daughter, and host of many great neighborhood functions. She's in the Stroller Strides Running Group too, and she's our very first guest blogger! Her first post will be coming shortly.
This is what I'm wondering. I'm a working mom, and I get up at 4 am just so I will have a half an hour of quiet before my day gets going! I want to (which is progress at least) but there are not enough hours in the day!
I've been wondering that myself since I went back to work. I already wake up at 530am...it seems so early. But angela puts me to shame (4!).
