Three perfect hours... in Park Hill

Monday, November 5, 2007 Leave a Comment

A perfect Wednesday begins like this:

I take my son to our Music Together class in Park Hill. Music Together is a well-researched music program for babies, toddlers, and kids up to age 5. We sing, we dance, we play instruments, and kids love it. Our class is full of 18 month to 3 year old boys, which means the energy level is stratospheric. (And another mom in the class had her 6 year old daughter in Music Together, and says she is a whiz at math... there is a definite connection between music and math.)

After class, we walk over to Adagio Bakery, which is one of Denver's best-kept secrets. They have the most utterlydelicious scones I've ever had. I like the cherry vanilla almond scones; my son likes the blueberry lemon scones. While we're in line, my son howls at the wolf painting, baaas at the big horn sheep, sssss's at the snake, and pets the dogs tied up outside.

Then we head over to the Turtle park across the street, hot coffee in my hand, and play with the neighborhood kids.

When my son is good and tired, we head over to Spinellis' Market and buy pizza dough, shredded mozzarella, and sliced pepperoni for homemade pizza night.

They have a fantastic deli (we love their egg salad sandwiches), homemade take-out dinners, and a great selection of gourmet pastas, meat (yesterday we got a pot roast, and they told us how to cook it), produce, specialty items and their delicious Spinelli's sauces.

And we're home by noon!
